Bio
Andrey first experience in listening to music came in the form of legendary bands “Queen” and “the Police” when he was only 6 years old. At age 9 he started to learn the science of playing drums and quickly developed his skills. By the time he was a young teenager his love for music had already spread it’s roots and he fell in love with the unique sounds of Jazz and fusion. It was this love for music and drumming that led him to join a Metal/Rock band in his early high school days where they played for various events high school events like prom nights and Graduations. In 95’ after finishing high school he moved to San Francisco where he participated in the “National Drum Off” held by the “Guitar Center” where he took the title of “Runner up”. Shortly after he was introduced to Rock music with Metal and heavier sounds although deep down he grew a love for electronic music, hip-hop, soul and Jazz. In the year 2000 Andrey was signed as a drummer for local Indonesian band “bunglon” where he eventually went on to become their music director and producer.By the year 2001 Bunglon won the award for “Best Jazz Band” by the Indonesian television station 'sctv'. During Andrey’s time with Bunglon Andrey kept his love for Producing and Directing flowing making various solo projects for Indonesian Artist such as “Artidewi” and “Abdul” to up and coming Neo Soul and Pop acts that were relatively successful in the Indonesian market. Andrey, who’s friends were mostly DJ’s became part of the project “DJ Adhe Live P.A” who’s members included DJ Adhe (highly Ranked Indonesian DJ), Derry (Respected Indonesian Keyboardist) and Andrey who played percussion and Emceed. In the year 2005 “DJ Adhe Live P.A” claimed the title of first place for Asia Pacific in the “Heineken Thirst DJ Competition” which boasted a selection of International act’s from Asia’s top countries. Their Live P.A set went on to represent Asia Pacific in the “Heineken Thirst DJ Competition” in Capetown South Africa where they claimed the title of “Runner Up” for the “Heineken Thirst Global Final” in South Africa with alongside supporting international acts such as “Basement Jaxx” and “ Mylo”. Returning home from this experience Andrey was led to create Electronic music of his own joining heads with Edmond K. With their experiences in hand he went on to create “Orbeat” a group who’s sounds revolved around downtempo beats with trip-hop and jazz elements. Bored by the monotonous sounds of common house and dance music they aimed at making their sounds “dowtempo” with key Elements coming from live flutes, smooth bass grooves and additional vocals from soul singers and Emcee’s, with easy listening sounds their live set which includes a drummer(s), percussion, flutes, saxs, singers and emcee’s
